Whee! I went jurong point just now for dinner. After that I had hagen daas. YAY i love ice cream. Woah, after which I walked past twister and monsoon optics. And guess who I saw, yes it's Shaun Chen. Haha. Lol, I was thinking of taking a photo with him today actually cause I saw him there quite a number of times already. But I was rather undecided if I should take a photo and my mum, being an unpatient silly woman. She say I siao. Whatever. lol. Anyway, so I didn't go take a photo with him. He's looking exceptionally good looking today as compared to that day..I should have just gone right? But I know, my mum given her character, would have made the scene embarrasing lah. I'll just wait for another chance with my friends that is. But actually I like the sunglasses in his shop. I've made up my mind to get it. But must decide when to go get it. I still need to have my hair and nails done for chinese new year.
Another more exciting thing! The moment I stepped into jurong point, I heard a voice through the mike from the stage. And I instantly knew who it was! One of my very very hot favourites! Edmund Chen(his chinese name is chen zhi cai). Oh my gosh. Immediate reaction was to swipe out my camera from my bag and zoom in to the stage to take a photo of him:) I finally saw him in person:D But if only my mum weren't there. I would have waited for him to end the event and get off stage and I'll approach him for a photo. oh man! He's really one of the male actors that really captivates me. He also looked stunning today.
Ok, in conclusion, I think both of them are going for the countdown party today. Almost definitely!
HAHA, I think some of my friends would be bored reading my blog...esp recently when I start blogging about celebrities and media related stuff like journalism. Sorry lah. I'm just in love with media.
Anyway, it really is a pity that I'm not heading down to the countdown party at vivo city. I had very much wanted to go but my parents are the ever boring ones who think that such things are stupid. It's fun alright! Ok, they don't read blogs. lol. so they won't be seeing this. Marina bay nevermind. But I'm really sad on missing out the vivo one cause it's by the channel 8 artistes! :(:( But it's ok, for now I'll just make do with the live telecast on tv! Oh, and the siloso beach party seems like it'll be a total blast too!
Decided. next wk go do a simple pedicure, then nearer to chinese new year, I'll go for a nice manicure after my hair is done. Haha. What a lot of money. Then find an appropriate time to get the sunglasses. I hope I don't spend all at one go cause it's really quite a lot. After that I shall not spend so lavishly...till after my exams in may:) January will be my last spending month before my exams end in late may. Good saving for feb, march, apr, may and then june can spend some again. Ohno, I'm typing out my random thoughts right now.

I went down to monsoon hair and nail spa at novena to do my nails today. OOOPS! I forgot to ask the lady who did my nails her name. Gosh. I didn't realise until later. Ok shall narrate the story to you.
After doing my nails, I went back to jurong point. It's a long mrt ride from novena square. Anyways, when I finally got back to Jurong Point, I met addy at Twister again. So I showed him my hair after treatment and my newly done nails. He asked me who was it who did it for me, only then did I realise I forgot to ask for her name. Then I went inside to look at some of their designer clothes. Not bad actually. But I don't know if I really should buy or not. Addy told me the designs are by a young designer so the designs are quite nice:) Then after that I got some opinions from him about my hair. I shall think about it. Maybe one day I'll go down to novena to get him to do my hair personally. Seriously, it really isn't that expensive afterall. Thanks addy for taking the time to talk to me. :)
Anyway, I'll be going down to do my nails again soon. Before the chinese new year that is. He recommended one of the nail stylists to me. yep so should be quite good. As for my toenails, sighs, I'll probably just do a normal pedicure. my toenails get weared off easily cos I still practice a bit for ballet cos I'm skipping 1 ballet term so I must not lose the touch. Right? And yes, back to it. Not worth to do too much to my toenails. I pity "them" actually.

I got my eyes on a hat and a sunglass. Yes, I mentioned the sunglasses before so shan't elaborate. The hat's from Valerie. Wait till I get my hands on these 2 things. I still feel like getting more clothes. Ohman!
Oh yes, my nails:) It's a pretty shade of sparkly beige cum pink. It's glittered by the way.

HEAVES A SIGH OF RELIEF!

Woahs! really heaving a sigh of relief. My exam registration letter did not get lost in the post afterall. It just got delayed by about a week. But thankfully singapore post did not mess up all the letters. THANKS:)
And I went to check out the advance exam timetable. I'm lucky. None of the papers clash..as in fall on the same day. Which is really really good cause for certain units there's a lot to remember.

Had a fruitful time at the library today. Finished reading up on culture and started on my IBM(intro to business and management) assignment. And I realised I'm not taking as long as what I did for my very first ibm assignment. That's a good sign isn't it? :D
Oops. I still have to revise for the small ibm test on next monday. I haven't even started revision on it yet.

Last friday I met up with mingxi for a quick lunch just before she went off to the airport to fly to hong kong with her other friends for a holiday. Haha.

Wooohs! 2009 is coming! :) I'm rather excited. I have no idea why actually. Well, I'll most probably be at home watching the countdown on tv. My parents aren't young enough to really understand the fun of going to the countdown parties to play. Haha. Maybe when I've started working then I'll go with my friends or something. It'll definitely be fun with the hyped up spirit live at the parties. I feel the excitement!

And december also spells the time for me to update my resume and maybe take a proper corporate photo for my resume. Should I go take?? Still thinking if I should spend the money. I've yet to send the resume for internship yet that's why I'm considering taking a nice photo. I don't mind the money just that I don't know if there's a need to. Cause I have a photo in blazer and another taken for prom and both photos seem okay.

Ahhh which reminds me, I'm thinking if I should go for a manicure tomorrow. Now I'm really undecided. I want to have a new colour since a new year is approaching. Yep that spells for a manicure. Whee! Maybe I should really go. Oh my, I really love pat's nails! :):) So pretty!
This is kind of infuriating. Oh my gosh, I haven't received the letter from sim yet. About the exam registration. It's extremely horrible..the feeling i mean. Come on mr postman! Please send it to me today! So flustered. I surely hope it's not lost in the post nor delayed over at the head office. Singapore Post, it's not the first time my mail is delayed. please oh please.

Oh dear! how forgetful could I get? I was intending to blog about meeting one of my secondary school teachers. Ok, haha I met huang qiu ying lao shi at jurong point last thursday when I was with kuinoi. Oh my goodness gracious, time literally flies. She has already given birth to her baby girl. The last time I met her was when she was still pregnant and lamenting on how her weight shot up. Now her little angel is able to walk already. It's fast for such a little kid to start walking, she looks like a walking middle sized soft toy. Ohsocute!
And huang lao shi has lost all the weight she'd gained during her pregnancy:)

Ok, today I had lunch with mingxi before she fly off to hong kong with her friends for a short holiday.
And when we passed by Monsoon Optics, we saw Shaun Chen inside. I wanted to take a look at the sunglasses and mingxi wanted to see how tall shaun was so we went in. I set my eyes on this particular one that cost about $159 after discount. It's cheaper than brands like gucci and such but it's no less branded. I forgot how to spell the name. It's guy something. And it's not so huge like some others, which is good for me because my face is small. Well, I'll have to save to buy that then.

Today's a little sad. I'm not going for my 26th's Xmas party. Well...not that I don't want to, just that my parents are kinda against me going for all these, at least not before my exams are over. But then again, after exams I'll be taking an internship and there goes my time again. I bet I'll have almost no time to even meet up with friends when I'm on internship. I have a few kinds of internship in mind already but I don't want to reveal anything here. Haha, not to mention some workshops to go too!

If there's anything, I can't wait for Chinese New Year to be here. I need to replenish my bank account because there are some things I really want to buy and they aren't all that cheap.

Ok, I finally changed my blog template! And finally there's archives. Cause people kept complaining to me and asking me how come they can't see my older posts. And finally when mingxi asked me, I decided to change my blog template. haha. Yay, u should be happy now! :) And I like this new template much more than the previoius one.

Anyway, I said I was going to upload the photos of my hair before and after treatment right? Here they are.

Before treatment and cut

After treatment and cut, taken inside my salon:) Hehe, I like the chair!

It doesn't look different in the photos but when you look at it in person, there's a slight difference and the texture is nicer:) I'm happy.
I should go do my nails before my mini party right? Ok, maybe later. See first, cause next week I'm going to do so I'm thinking I shouldn't waste money today.

My Sunny(pet bird) is really the cutest thing ever. Gosh. I played with him for a while this morning. Makes me laugh:D
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE EVERYONE!
Gosh, I'm having ice cream cravings again. AHHH! I want ice cream. But I'm afraid to put on weight!

Tuesday, December 23, 2008

Yay! I went to Twister(monsoon group) today for my hair treatment and haircut. It's smelling really nice now! Whee! Cause of the nice smelling chemicals used. It's different from rebonding chemicals. And it feels really soft now. Ok, my hair length is almost the same. Alvius just trimmed a little off. I'll upload photos of my hair tomorrow morning!
And everyone! Merry christmas in advance!

Monday, December 22, 2008

OOHH! today's last day of lesson before my 1 week plus holiday break. Whee! ok, after ibm today, i went to demsey with my ibm lecture friends: Sabrina, Aini and Siyun. Hmm. laughs. We were walking around the entire demsey hill before we could find the place where we wanted to eat at, which was Samy's Curry. On the way, I saw this shop that reared 2 parrots. Didn't go near to see cause we were still looking for Samy's Curry. Wow, the curry was really really good! But, not exactly that cheap. Sighs. We each paid $17! Gosh. But ok, the food was really nice. I'm sure the other eating places there are damn nice also!
On the way there in the bus, there was this cute little bee that decided to rest next to sabrina on the window pane. haha. SABRINA screamed! ok, not that loud but yes, she was super scared! So funny lah. seriously. haha.

Anyway, haha did I mention? I somehow psycho-ed my mum to buy a wallet from Avant de Garde for herself. Hehs. the brand is called omnia. yep. And the owner in the shop actually is a designer and the wallets are mostly bought by movie stars, celebrities and such! Cool huh! There's anna sui wallets in there too! Anyway, the shop is in Jurong Point now! So if you're in the mood to spend and you want a wallet or bag which is of good branding and design, just head down to the basement of jurong point to get one! :D

Oh, tomorrow I'm going to head to Twister at Jurong Point for hair treatment and also to cut my hair. yay. My hair will become "can make it" after that(laughs. if you don't understand what I mean, just read 2 posts down).
Alicia's going to rebond her hair there too. I psycho-ed her. I'll post more about it after tomorrow. :)

To end off, here's a photo of me. Such a camwhore I am. Actually, there are more photos just that I'm really lazy to upload. But some of them are on facebook. Facebook is faster for uploading photos! haha!

Saturday, December 20, 2008

Well, today was kind of a study day. And reading day. Sounds crazy since it's december. Sighs. What could you expect when it's not official after exams holidays yet?
Okay. shall not describe the studying part. The reading part:D I read Times magazine today. Almost the entire magazine was about Obama! Wow! Ahh Ahh, there was this part that attracted me a lot: Obama's lucky charms.
These items were picked up on his campaign trail.
1)Memorial bracelet
A gift from Wisconsin;s Tracy Jopek, who lost her older son in Iraq
2)Gambler's Chit
A heavy disk worn smooth by rubbing on both faces
3)Hanuman
The Hindu god symbolises strength, tenacity and loyalty
4)Madonna
Given to Obama by an elderly Hispanic woman
5)Silver Charm
A handmade Braille coin that reads "a little bit of luck"
(adapted from Times magazine)

Everyone should go grab the latest copy of times magazine! This copy is really really interesting! There's also the section on "10 People Who Mattered 2008" and there's a whole load of photos in there of which some are really heart wrenching as they portrayed the faces of 2008 really well. Tears instantly welled up and like a running tap, just flowed continuously after I saw the photos.

Met addy at twister again. Haha. Yea, going for hair treatment next week, but not him tending to me though. haha he only does hair at novena and he told me it's more expensive there cos he's there. hmmm. I may find a day to go there though. Ohmygosh, he opened so many salons already...even in KL! Haha the worst thing is he can't believe that I have not gone to a salon for like about more than 4 months already. Super funny..he was like, "Cannot make it already. must cut." He still asked me to get my mum to go there to do her hair but when i told him my mum's hair is about his hair length...haaha i think he almost fainted :x He's really such a humurous person, which is good. Okay back to the treatment thing, i think he mentioned about doing the redken treatment. omg. $149. oh no! money spent again. ok, at least my mum will not bug me about cutting my hair after i go. I hope so.
Jurong Point is always so so crowded these days. Even more so after the expanded part is opened. It's like an orchard number 2. Total madness comes when you try to get into any eating place. You probably have to wait for at least 20 mins. Too crowded!
I want to get so many things. omg. look at the list:
1)liquid and powder foundation from Yves Saint Laurens
2)Clothes from a few places
3) Gucci bag (too exp)
4) Guess bag
5) Sunglasses
6) Eyeshadow from Mac or Shiseido or Yves Saint Laurens
That's a lot right?
Maybe I'll not get any of it. Save money. :)

Christmas is coming! I feel the jingle festive mood already! Ok, I'm kind of satisfied with the stuff I've already bought about a week ago.
On a side note, I badly want to do freelance writing....on news or shopping or food places. The passion to write is still here. :) And it'll remain for the years to come of course.

Yet another one? Haha :)
Like what nas said, yet another celebrity story. I have no idea why the sudden "star struck" life. Haha. But yes, today when I was at jurong point with kuinoi, i saw shaun chen in his shop. haha. In fact, I didn't realise it until kuinoi mentioned it. LOL. haha. But well, I'm not that mad about him. He's okay i guess. Didn't take any photo with him.
And kuinoi! Arghs. I did not take photos with you also! We better meet up again to shop or something.
Anyway, I'm happy for nas who has gotten her first byline for her article! It's really cool. :D I will live to see my first byline too!
Meanwhile, I'm just trying to study ibm more in depth. There's really quite a substantial amount for each topic in fact. Seems like gp but seems not to be too. And the mullins text is really thick, but interesting.
I'm really lazy to post up photos here. But they're up on facebook. Facebook's much faster than blogger.
Every girl should grab the jan09 issue of cleo! Seriously. There's good deals in there! And of course not forgetting the whole long list of cleo giveaways! Too attractive to be chucked aside!

Monday, December 15, 2008

OH! today i went out with my council girls! ok i'll upload the photo soon. very soon. don't worry. haha! We went to thai express! yep, but after that they went to hagen dazz but I had to leave lah. damn sad. arghs.
And umm..today's my mum's birthday also. she actually suggested to go thai express. haiya. she kept calling me on my hp=X She bought an ultra tiny cake. Seriously tiny. HAHA! I took some unglam photos of her.lol.
ohhohhh! something even more exciting! Just before I met up with my mum at jurong point's newly opened thai express I walked past the new branch of hair salon opened my addy lee and a few other celebrities. OMG. To my surprise, addy was there! Haha. And one of my hair stylists, alvius, he took my around the hair salon for a little tour of it. It's really big and of course, it looks luxurious! :D YEP, and now they sell clothes too! Really really really nice clothes! But it's really expensive. :( I don't think i can spend so much already after my christmas shopping spree. Must save! Ok, I'll save to buy those clothes! Really very very nice! Hey friends, if you all do chance by twister at jurong point(the name for the new hair salon) do go in and check out the clothes. How often do you see hair salons selling clothes man!

Change. Sometimes it's for the better, sometimes for the worse. My friends know I am sometimes a little apprehensive when there's change, depending on what the change is. Recently, I kind of changed my perspective. As long as it is a good change, I have no doubt whatsoever about accepting it. I guess that's a good change for me.
People either dislike change and fear change. But if change is not there, how would we embrace improvements? You must be thinking why I've suddenly decided to embrace all the good changes that come along my way. There's a reason behind it. Recently, there have been several terror attacks in Mumbai and Pakistan, anti-government protests in Thailand and some other seemingly insignificant happenings in other parts of the world. If there is no change to these situations, what is the world going to become? I support what president elect, Obama mentioned about that we need change. If there's no changes for the better, the world may descend into a cloud of misery and gloom which would probably be there for many years to come. When no one is willing to take the first step to change something undesirable, the situation will definitely worsen.
It came very suddenly. When all these "scary" events happened one after the other likened to how bowling pins fall one after the other, it occurred to me that I have to be accepting about change, of course when it is for the better.
Another issue which I thought is very alarming. Social Responsibility. For the past few weeks, as I was on the MRT trains, in buses or even in shopping centres, I realised the self-centredness of people. We want to label ourselves as a first world country and yet many a time irresponsibility kicks in and render us worse off than third world countries. Don't a frail old lady in a crowded mrt deserve a seat? Why do people throw their disposable cups along the roads and east coast park after the recent Standard Chartered run? It really saddens me that these actions are carried out probably without thinking, just because it is at the convenience of these people. If you cough or sneeze, what's the problem with just using a hand to cover your mouth? Isn't it the normal thing to do? This is seriously something which I believe no matter how hard the government tries to promote, it still boils down one's own civic mindedness and social responsibility. You really cannot blame the government because they've tried their best.

For the past 2 days, tuesday and wednesday, I went to Singapore Media Academy to attend a journalism workshop! ok, SMA is at mediacorp...if you do not already know. haha! I really really enjoyed the course and learnt useful things about journalism. And of course, not forgetting, the friends whom I made there and my trainer, she's pauline dawn loh. She's really really knowlegeable and humorous! :D ok, friends i made there: Nas, Amanda, Jennifer, Kia Ai, Hendrietta, May, Lai Yee, Chloe, Alvyn, Shruti, Joreis, Edward, Lavania, Cheyanne
OOPS! but i didn't take much photos.
but! nas and I took photos with some celebs there! WHEE! Actually i met ling xiang ping, zhang yao dong, adrian pang, julian hee, belinda lee....but I onliy took photo with 2 though. i don't know why.

dear xiang ping and me! :) she's really sweet! and pretty!

Hot Yao Dong and me! :D
